Knee Injury Therapy - Recovery in Milwaukee

A knee injury can affect any of the ligaments, tendons or fluid-filled sacs (bursa) that surround your knee joint as well as the bones, cartilage and ligaments that form the joint itself. Because there are so many structures involved, the amount of use it gets in the course of a lifetime, and the range of injuries and diseases that can cause knee pain, the signs and symptoms of knee problems will vary widely.

Physical Therapy can relieve knee pain.

Acute Knee Pain

Severe pain that comes on suddenly is often caused by an injury. Some of the more common of these are:

  • Ligament injuries
  • Tendon injuries
  • Meniscus injuries
  • Bursitis
  • Loose body (a piece of bone or cartilage that may be "floating" around.)
  • Dislocated kneecap
  • Osgood-Schlatter disease.
  • Iliotibial band syndrome
  • Hyperextended knee
• Septic arthritis

Chronic Knee Pain

Sometimes an injury can lead to ongoing knee pain. Often, chronic pain will be a result of one of the following medical conditions:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Gout
  • Chondromalacia of the patella or patellofemoral pain

Whether your pain is acute or chronic, whether you are an athletic teen or a senior who has just had a total knee replacement, PROCare Physical Therapy of Milwaukee will help to get you the results that you need and want in order to get back to normal.
